{"id":316,"date":"2025-12-31T18:30:39","date_gmt":"2025-12-31T18:30:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/hykaz.net\/firb\/insurance\/"},"modified":"2025-12-31T19:06:55","modified_gmt":"2025-12-31T19:06:55","slug":"insurance","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/hykaz.net\/fr\/firb\/insurance\/","title":{"rendered":"Insurance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Through its administration of&nbsp;<em>The Insurance Act<\/em>, the Financial Institutions Regulation Branch is responsible for licensing all insurers operating in Manitoba, regulates insurers established in Manitoba and manages consumer and policyholder complaints about insurers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Insurers operating in Manitoba are expected to use the principles outlined in the Conduct of&nbsp;<em>Insurance Business and Fair Treatment of Customers&nbsp;<\/em>(Guidance), which was adopted jointly in September 2018 by the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators and the Canadian Insurance Services Regulatory Organizations, to supervise the conduct of insurers and intermediaries. The Guidance can be found on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ccir-ccrra.org\/Documents\/View\/3450\">Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Financial Institutions is also responsible for policy related to insurance and for recommendations for legislative changes. Harmonized legislative frameworks between jurisdictions are essential for insurers that often operate in many jurisdictions. Most of Financial Institutions\u2019 research is done in cooperation with the Canadian Council of Insurance Regulators and trade associations representing the insurance industry locally and nationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Financial Institutions also licenses special insurance brokers that place unlicensed
