Manitoba Financial Literacy Forum Releases 2013 Calendar in Celebration of Financial Literacy Month Winnipeg, MB. To celebrate Financial Literacy Month, the Manitoba Financial Literacy Forum is proud to release its first Financial Literacy Calendar, which promotes financial literacy learning all year long. The calendar was developed in collaboration with key partners, and focuses on valuable information and tips on a variety of financial topics such as credit and debt, selecting a financial adviser, accessing the Canada Learning Bond and financial abuse of older adults. Information in the calendar is of particular interest to young people, families and individuals nearing retirement.
In response to the work done by the Federal Task Force on Financial Literacy, the Manitoba Securities Commission and the Knowledge Bureau have created the Manitoba Financial Literacy Forum. The Forum’s mandate is to improve financial literacy for all Manitobans. The Forum currently has 35 active members representing stakeholders from the public, private, financial services, credit counselling, and voluntary sectors, as well as individuals, and families and labour organizations.
